THE first time the Galaxy A models was introduced by Samsung, It showed the tech world, that the Tech giant is ready to start it’s first experimentation with build materials. If you go through the Samsung galaxy A line, you will discover to your amazement, that almost all the A smartphones are being made entirely of metal. With the success experienced with the device from the market, Samsung just discovered that they have found a more definite path in terms of design and build quality. However, there is something about the Samsung Galaxy A series that makes me applaud this company, the A series devices ensures that Samsung test the ground before releasing it’s flagship characteristics to a more budget-friendly price and features.
The Samsung galaxy A line provide us with a series of smartphones which comes in different sizes, features and specification, paving the way for samsung to release it’s next flagship smartphone.
Display
The Galaxy A7 comes with a super AMOLED display screen of 5.5-inch, and a 1920 x 1080 resolution, which means a pixel density of 401 ppi. The A7 2016 model comes with a Quad HD, making us wonder if QHD screen is the new standard for smartphones. However, the addition of Super AMOLED in samsung devices, including the A9, plays a major part in creating a great viewing experience for users of this device.
Hardware and Performance
For performance, the Galaxy A7 comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz, and is backed by the Adreno 405 GPU, with 3GB of RAM. In the case of this Snapdragon-powered review unit, the performance is what you expect from this model.
This device also comes with an inbuilt 16GB storage space, and for the A7 2016 model, it is the only option available. However, this smartphone comes with a space to insert a MicroSD, meaning that you can easily get a MicroSD and expand the storage up to 128GB(Which is the maximum).
For Hardware, the Galaxy A7 comes with a fingerprint scanner, which is inbuilt in the home button located below the screen. This is the same implementation as seen with the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 before it, and the fingerprint scanner works perfect. However, the first time you decide to set up the Fingerprint scanner, the process takes a little longer when compared to some competing devices out there, but once you’ve completed the process and successfully set up the scanner, it is always reliable, accurate, and generally pretty fast at unlocking the phone.
The fingerprint scanner function is NOT only unlocking the phone, you can also use it with the Samsung Pay.
Camera
The Galaxy A7 features a back camera of 13 MP, which comes with a a f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization, however, some users are disappointed with Samsung in the A7 camera aspect. They’re disappointed because the camera didn’t live up to their expectation of the A series flagship smartphone.
Although there are some notable features the camera does not come with, including video recording capabilities in 4K, No Youtube live streaming feature and no HDR Auto. The company however, decided to retain the smartphone ability to easily launch the camera by double tapping the home button, this feature was first introduced in the Galaxy S6.
