MTN Share and Sell is one of the best innovations from MTN Nigeria. With MTN Share ‘n Sell, all MTN subscribers can now share credit from their MTN account to other MTN customers’ accounts.

However, to ensure the security of their customers, before a transfer can be successful, you need your Personal Identification Number (PIN). This PIN feature helps the customer get the required security and prevent fraud.

How can I transfer credit from MTN to MTN?

Please take note that there are several ways you can transfer credit from your MTN account to another MTN subscriber. You can either transfer credit through SMS or USSD.

How to Transfer Credit using SMS

To Transfer Credit using SMS, please take note that you are to send an SMS in this format:

Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount, and PIN to 777. For example, you can send an SMS with

‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234’ to 777.

Once you have sent the message, you will receive an SMS asking you to confirm that you want to make the transfer. To confirm you truly initiated the transfer, you are to reply with ‘YES’ to 777 and it will be confirmed.

How to Transfer Credit using USSD

Just like I disclosed Yesterday, you can easily transfer credit from your mobile phone to another MTN customer’s phone by dialing. TO initiate a transfer, simply dial:

*600*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN#

on your phone and then click on send/press ok. For example dial*600*08031234567*1500*1234# and then send/ok.

When the transfer is done, you will receive a message informing you that the transfer was successful.

How to Change MTN Transfer PIN Code

The first and foremost challenge you will face before initiating a successful transfer is changing the default Transfer PIN to your own personalized PIN. To change the default MTN transfer pin, simply send an SMS with the default PIN New PIN New PIN to 777. Here is what I mean. The Normal MTN transfer default PIN is 0000, so if you want to change it to 1234, you will need to send an SMS using the shortcodes below:

‘0000 1234 1234’ to 777.

How To Share Data On MTN Network

• To start the transfer, simply Dial *131*2*1# or text REG to 131; to register for MTN Data Share, you will receive a unique security PIN, which you can use to always share DATA with friends, Families, and Colleagues.
• However, the PIN sent to you can be changed. The major reason why it is advisable to change your PIN is for you to easily remember the one you changed it to, not the system-generated PIN. To change the pin to a new PIN, simply Dial*131*2*5# or by texting Change OLD_PIN NEW_PIN NEW_PIN to 131.For example Change 0000 1234 1234 to 131. Where 0000 is old PIN and 1234 is the new PIN of your choice.
• After you have successfully changed the PIN to the one you can easily remember, you are required to add beneficiaries to your MTN shared Data Bundle account via USSD menu *131*2*2# or by texting Add <MSISDN> <PIN> to 131. You can add up to 5 beneficiaries which whom you can share your DATA bundles with.
• Once you have added beneficiaries, you (the sponsor) will be able to share your available data bundle among the added beneficiaries by sending the keyword Share <PIN> to 131 or simply dial USSD code *131*2*3#.
